Where it feels helpful, I may also bring in practical and grounding techniques to support you with what is happening in your life now.

What will the process be?
First I will arrange a free 20 minute phone call to find out more about you, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions. The next step will be a face to face or virtual assessment of around 90 minutes, and then we will decide on a way forward that suits your needs.
How long will I have to wait for an appointment?
I aim to offer you a first appointment, known as an assessment session, within 1-2 weeks.
If you need urgent support, please contact your GP immediately, alternatively dial 999 or you can also call the Samaritans on 116 123 or visit their website.
How long will I need to attend counselling?
At Ashtead & Leatherhead Counselling I offer open-ended counselling as I believe this is beneficial to you but we can also offer short-term counselling. We can, however, discuss this at the first appointment.
Will my counsellor give me advice?
I will not offer advice, tell you what to do or judge you in any way. The aim of counselling is to help you come to your own decisions; only you know how you feel in any given situation.

It is essential to the work that you prioritise your counselling sessions once agreed. Missed sessions will be charged in full unless at least 48hrs notice is given. If you need to cancel a session please contact me as soon as possible as room bookings are made 4 weeks in advance. You will not be charged for your counsellor’s absence. You will be required to give 4 weeks’ notice of termination of the contract.
